Internet connection with wifi

Hello
I inestall ubuntu 8.10 in my old pc (2.4 ghz cpu ) but i don't have the instrument for connecting to internet via wired connection..so i want to connect via wifi..i bought a pci wifi adapter and install on maderbourd and with some serch with phone i use lspci command and i see that ubuntu recognize the adapter...but i don't have wifi sign in pc..so idon't know what to do..again i don't have any way to connect internet just with my phone..and i want to share that via wifi with pc

Support for Ubuntu 8.10 has ended in April 2010, that is more than ten years ago.
You should install a supported Ubuntu release, see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases for a list.
