Ubuntu laptops joining to a different active directory enterprise network

I'm having some issues understanding the way that I need to join one Ubuntu 20.04 LTS laptop I have into our main corporate network we have the networks segmented and are trying to join them to work on compliance with the non-corporate network. I've seen a few thing that talk about AdSys but it states it needs to be joined to the domain prior to installing those tools. Ultimately my company wants to integrate this external network to our network and im a little confused on how to go about doing that.
