On Ubuntu 22.04 this is what I have.

I expected to have something similar. It was in the past. I don't know when it changed.

OK, I want Missing Recommends to NOT have installed programs. I want Ubuntu 20.04 Missing Recommends to have ONLY programs that are not installed, that Ubuntu recommends to be installed, like Ubuntu 22.04. The way 20.04 was in the past.

Why do you care at all? Is there anything on your system that does not work?

Why do you care at all?

It has changed, in the past it is more like 22.04. That line Missing Recommends, like it is, is of no use. I would just like to know how to change it back. In my experience, if something changed to a incorrect way, it must be corrected. On my job, before I retired, ANY error could kill people. (Train brakes, speed controllers, couplers, electrical and air systems, etc.). I will close question.

I do not know where you see something "incorrect" with missing recommendations.

Ubuntu's package management system has got three main categories of dependencies:
"depends": one package does not work (and cannot correctly be installed) without the other one - this definitely has to be corrected
"recommends": the package will usually be installed together with the other one, but it definitely works without the other one
"suggests": the package may be more useful together with the other one, but it will work well also without.

Manfred

What I perceive as incorrect, is 1. To me, missing recommends, would mean that these programs are not installed. All programs in missing are installed. 2. To me, Installed and Missing Recommends, should not be the same. They both have same programs installed. This is in Synaptic Package Manager.

Bernard

I have uninstalled Synaptic Package Manager, and reinstalled it. There was no change. I have Ubuntu 18.04, 20.04, and 22.04 installed on this computer. libacodac58 Package is not installed on 22.04, I will install it tomorrow.
