You need to think about your use of Windows and space requirements. There is no single right or best solution here. Ubuntu needs about 30Gb for the OS but more will make things easier.

In my opinion, I'd have a large NTFS file system for casual data (photos, music etc) as Windows can access NTFS but not Linux based file systems (You will need to accommodate the shortcomings of Windows).

whatever size for Windows to store apps only (say, 400Gb, I don't know what you use Windows for (Gamers will need more space here). If you only intend to use one or two apps in Windows then less space will be needed.

50Gb for the ubuntu root file system including /home fomatted to Ext4

you will also need a /boot file system if you want to use UEFI. About 2Gb will be more than enough and formatted to Ext4

the rest as NTFS for Windows to store data on and be mounted as /data in Ubuntu. You can then make symlinks to this for easier access.

Can you help with this problem?
