Driver for webcam Creative CT6840

Asked by Oscar Otero

I've a webcam Creative CT 6840, lsusb said this: Bus 001 Device 005: ID 05a9:a511 OmniVision Technologies, Inc. OV511+ Webcam.

Cheese said: No webcam found.

I think I need a driver for it, so I made a long resarch in Omnivision Technologies, Inc., at Creative webpage, Ubuntu Forum, and launchpad.net, but no one can say me if this camera have or no have a proper driver to run over Ubuntu 22.04, and say where I can get it.

If someone would help me I will appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Before your latest post I was having a chat whit Creative Lab. They don't want that I share it with anyone, but they said they can't support Linux's users and they don't have drivers to Linux, only MS.
It seem I will buy another webcam with drivers for Linux. Thanks so much to bear with me.

Good morning to everyone, unfortunately, the webcam continues looking at me, but Cheese doesn't recognize her, so I still need an answer.

Can you help with this problem?
