Feature request: Automatically switch to dark mode at night and back to light mode at day

Asked by Allie Campbell

Ubuntu has a visually appealing theme, Yaru. There is Yaru Light, and Yaru Dark. These themes can be switched, but there is no option to have the themes switch automatically according to the time of day. Windows has the same issue, but software like Auto Dark Mode exists. For Linux, there's a GNOME extension called Night Theme Switcher, but its description states, "Ubuntu is not supported due to their heavily patched GNOME components that conflict with the extension."

I hope Ubuntu devs can take a look at this feature request and make it possible for the theme switching to be automated. Thank you.
