How do I upgrade from 8.04 to 9.04?

I'm running 8.04 (with all the updates) on this machine and I have done a dual-boot installation of 9.04 and 9.04 seems to recognize all my hardware, so now I want to upgrade the 8.04 partition (keeping all my installed applications and data in the process), but I can't seem to find instructions on how to do that. Can anyone help?

You would first have to upgrade to 8.10 and then to 9.04.
