package architecture (amd64) does not match system architecture (arm64)

Asked by Ruhi Ersen

I set up ubuntu 22.04 on my raspberry pi 4 8gb. Then, I wanted to setup virtual box on it. But I encountered a problem. "package architecture (amd64) does not match system architecture (arm64)"... How can I solve this problem? or Can I solve it ?

Thank you.

You need the ARM CPU package, Raspberry Pis don't use AMD64 CPUs

What are you trying to install?

The first line on https://www.virtualbox.org/ tells
"VirtualBox is a powerful x86 and AMD64/Intel64 virtualization product..."
Raspberry Pi's CPU architecture is neither x86 nor AMD64/Intel64, but ARM.

There currently is a developer preview version for Apple ARM chips.
VirtualBox for Raspberry Pi is a much sought feature, but not available.
There are comments doubting that a RPi has enough capabilities for adequately running VirtualBox.

Can you help with this problem?
