ACPI BIOS ERROR when trying to install ubuntu 18.04.6 LTS from a bootable USB stick

Asked by Chang Yong Quan

I am trying to install Ubuntu 18.04.6 LTS onto a NUC 11 PHKi7C00, When I select install ubuntu from the grub menu.

I had this error which hangs my system:
ACPI BIOS Error (bug): Failure creating named object [\_SB.PC00.XHCI.RHUB.HS10._UPC],
AE_ALREADY EXISTS (20190816/dswload2-327)

I need to use Ubuntu 18.04 for a robotic arm that uses ros melodic.

These messages are related to the BIOS on your computer and are not related to Ubuntu at all.
Updating the IOS to the newest available version may help.

Remark:
Why do you try installing the old Ubuntu release 18.04? Support for that release will end in a month.
Have you tried Ubuntu 22.04 LTS?

I needed Ubuntu 18.04 to run ros-melodic for a robotic arm that I am trying to configure and use.

My Nvidia driver was the reason it hangs my system, I had booted ubuntu in recovery mode to update the driver and everything is working fine after the Nvidia driver is updated.
