Is Tripwire (open Source) still a good choice for Intrusion Detection on 22.04?

Asked by Greg Smith

Is Tripwire (Open Source) still a good choice for Intrusion Detection on 22.04?
Or since they've been bought, is there an alternative I should use instead?
I am a moderate-level, single user, administrator.
Thank, Greg

Tripwire is still good, less complicated to install than Snort.
