Can't set display brightness

Asked by Bocob

Hello,

System setup:
- Monitor Gigabyte m32u
- PC: Minisforum UM690
- CPU: AMD Ryzen™ 9 6900HX with AMD Radeon™ 680M Graphics
- Ubuntu 22.10

Problem:
Can't set display brightness. There is no brightness slider in the system menu.
Might be Ubuyntu does not support yet AMD integrated graphic.

Is there any way I can get this working?

Thank you

Does your monitor have a menu with brightness settings on it ?
Most monitors have the setting internally within the monitor.

Hi Bernard, yes monitor supports brightness settings.
But I have two PC's connected to the monitor and prefer brightness control on the PC, not on the monitor.
Thanks

Does the system have a make and model?

I also verified, if kernel has driver for the Radeon 680M internal graphic.
It looks graphic chipset is recognized:

root@UM690:~# lspci | grep VGA
35:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Rembrandt [Radeon 680M] (rev c7)
root@UM690:~#

Hi, if this is info you are asking, then it looks model and manufacturer are correctly recognized:

root@UM690:~# dmidecode | grep -A3 '^System Information'
System Information
Manufacturer: Micro Computer (HK) Tech Limited
 Product Name: UM690
 Version: Version 1.0
root@UM690:~#

Hi Bernard,

Thank you for your answer, but I already have this application installed and it does not work.
There is no brightness change when I change brightness slider or any slider in the app.
