Repo Kodi Ubunto 20.4 (focal) : bug et manquement

Asked by azimut2000

Cordialement,

Thierry

1. This is not a problem for Launchpad hosting services, but related to Ubuntu (at least this is what I assume based on your text "(L)Ubuntu 20.04.")

2. A package named kodi-game-libretro does not exist in the official Ubuntu releases, but only in PPAs
Apparently you have loaded that package from a PPA (or some other foreign source). If there is something wrong with a package from a PPA or if you have a question related to software from a PPA, then you have to contact the provider of the PPA directly.

for diagnostic purposes, what is the output of the commands (to be executed in a terminal window)

uname -a
lsb_release -crid
apt policy kodi-game-libretro

I'm not sure that i wanted to write here ;-)

My answers :

root@mediacenter:/lib/systemd/system# uname -a
Linux mediacenter 5.4.0-137-generic #154-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jan 5 17:03:22 UTC 2023 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

root@mediacenter:/lib/systemd/system# lsb_release -crid
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS
Release: 20.04
Codename: focal

root@mediacenter:/lib/systemd/system# apt policy kodi-game-libretro
kodi-game-libretro:
  Installed: 6:19.0.1-1~focal
  Candidate: 6:19.0.1-1~focal
  Version table:
 *** 6:19.0.1-1~focal 100
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

In fact, i wanted to ask to the xbmc Team ;-) but not sure that they will read my text here :-D

What's weird is that they produce .deb to install Kodi and different kind of addons.
They offer several packages like "kodi-game-libretro-beetle-bsnes" (kodi-game-libretro-*) but without providing the famous "kodi-game-libretro-6:20.0.deb" !!!
My PPA points to "team-xbmc" which is the official source provided by Kodi to install these packages under Ubuntu...
But I have the impression that not everything is provided correctly.
