CNF file size issue

Asked by Ben Price

Ive followed the instructions here https://www.linuxtechi.com/setup-local-apt-repository-server-ubuntu/ to create a local Ubuntu 20.04 repo. The issue is with the CNF part, I'm able to run the script but when I try to update a server from the repo I get these errors

E: Failed to fetch https://repo.ip.address.redacted/patches/Ubuntu/mirror/gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/focal-security/main/cnf/Commands-amd64.xz File has unexpected size (11200 != 11236). Mirror sync in progress? [IP:repo.ip.address.redacted]

Anyone seen this before and has a fix?

"Anyone seen this before"
It happens from time to time, that the update processes on Ubuntu repository servers run out of sync, such that the size and checksum verification fails.
Normally this gets automatically corrected with the following replication run, a few hours later.

"and has a fix"
Just try again later or switch to a different mirror server.

Can you help with this problem?
