Touch or Tracpad not working after ubuntu install

Asked by Fabian Stout

Good day,

I installed Ubuntu 18 on my Lenovo ideapad S145-15IIl, after the installation my touch or track pad does not work. I don't have any settings that state the mouse or TouchPad is on or off. I tried pressing F6 but it doesnt help. It is very difficult to navigate with the keyboard. I don't know how to go into settings, or close windows that I opened.

Please assist

Regards

Why such an old release? Ubuntu 18.04 ("Ubuntu 18 isn't a thing so I will assume) is end of life next year.....why not 22.04 which is also LTS

Hi I tried the 22.04, it gave me exactly the same issue with the track pad not working. I read somewhere that an older version might work without any issues I tried that. The same issue is still here, the track pad worked fine when I had windows on the machine.
