Have you verified that your router is capable of WPA3?

I assume you took the instructions form https://askubuntu.com/questions/1290589/how-to-use-wpa3-with-ubuntu-20-04
Is your connection also named mywifi?

Yes the router is WPA3 compatible and I have followed the instructions as per the link....no when configuring i used my wifi name

What happens when you do the steps as described in the askubuntu document, similar to the following:

nmcli conn show
nmcli conn edit (your uuid)
nmcli> print wifi-sec.key-mgmt
nmcli> set wifi-sec.key-mgmt sae
nmcli> verify
nmcli> print wifi-sec.key-mgmt
(eventually followed by)
nmcli> save persistent
