I did this and forget what I did or how to restore things. I wanted to use console only, and, it works. Now, the computer is to be put to another use.

When I boot, I get a black screen. ctrl-alt-f1 gets me to a login screen. From there, I can either continue in console or startx to get TWM.

I want to go back to vanilla-gnome, which was installed and worked before I mucked with things. So, instead of the black screen, I get the normal Ubuntu login screen.

I installed vanilla gnome over ubuntu 20.04, following https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjVQ681oQDA.

I upgraded to Ubuntu 22.04.

Now, vanilla gnome does not act as before. It is completely different.

Following the youtube example, nothing seems to change.

I can not get dash to dock to install.

How can I get the dock to be on the left as per the youtube example?

Please look for help somewhere else. This is outside the scope of the Ubuntu question area on Launchpad.
