lost broadcom restricted driver after jaunty-proposed kernel upgrade

Asked by Amr Hassan

After upgrading to the latest kernel image from jaunty-proposed, I lost my Broadcom wireless driver. It does not appear anymore in my restricted drivers.
I removed the proposed repo form sources and downgraded everything to 2.6.28-11.15 but I still can't get my driver back.
I have linux-restricted-modules and linux-restricted-modules-rt installed.

Many drivers were included in the actual kernel source tree, so their drivers are not as restricted.. but you'll still need to get the firmware for your device.

If you're using a custom kernel from kernel.org, firmware is installed under /lib/firmware,

if you're using an ubuntu kernel, firmware is installed under /lib/firmware/YOUR-KERNEL-VERSION.

The linux kernel ships with some firmware. but you can also download and install your own firmware.

For Broadcom firmware, go to:

http://www.broadcom.com/support/communications_processors/downloads.php#cfe

Can you help with this problem?
