Livepatch versus apt upgrade ?

Hi. I've solely been applying updates reported by Livepatch for some time but tried 'sudo apt upgrade' as an experiment and several other updates were applied. Why are these not highlighted by Livepatch, if they're necessary or useful? Cheers.

livepatch is only for the kernel but not for other packages.
