20.04.3LTS not seeing new wireless card AX210
According to everything I've been able to find this SHOULD be working. I have the 5.11.0-46-generic kernel installed (supposedly the 5.10 kernel was the first to support this card). Output from lspci -nnk | grep 0280 -A3 is:
07:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Intel Corporation Device [8086:2725] (rev 1a)
Subsystem: Intel Corporation Device [8086:0024]
Kernel driver in use: iwlwifi
Kernel modules: iwlwifi
Yet when I try to activate wireless from Gnome settings, it says a wireless card has not been detected. What am I missing here?

The output from "dmesg | grep -i firm" doesn't seem to return anything.
That post from askubuntu.com implies I should be good with the kernel I'm running which is why I'm wondering what's missing.

Unfortunately this is only the very last fragment of the output of the troubleshooting procedure and does not show the important information.
Try again, but before starting step 2 please re-configure the scroll buffer of the terminal to unlimited as described in step 1.

The output does not show any information about firmware loading for the WLAN device.
I assume that firmware is needed, and usually there are system log entries about that, but I do not see anything in your logs.
Is there anything about firmware in older system log files?

BINGO!!! That did it! So it wasn't something I did (or didn't) do, but an actual bug in the kernel! Hopefully it gets fixed soon. Thank you so much!

Well THAT didn't last long. Just ran the updater and it installed the 5.13.0-25-generic hwe kernel. Once again, the wireless adapter isn't recognized and running that command from askubuntu didn't work because that file didn't exist. I'd HOPED that with the kernel upgrade the issue would've been fixed but no dice...

I see that the kernel was updated from 5.11.0-* to 5.13.0-*. That is a major change and the newer kernel may need different actions.
Try restoring the iwlwifi-
sudo apt install --reinstall linux-firmware
and reboot. Then copy/paste the output of the command
dmesg | grep -i -e firmw -e iwlwifi

After I reinstalled the linux-firmware package and rebooted the wireless card was suddenly detected again! Thanks. Sure hope I don't have to keep jumping through hoops every time the kernel is updated... In response to your request, though:

Thanks Manfred Hampl, that solved my question.
