Rhythmbox starts every time I start Ubuntu

Asked by Aaron Whitehouse

Everytime that I log into Ubuntu, Rhythmbox starts. I have no idea why and I would like it to stop; it never used to happen.

It isn't in my startup programs and there isn't an option about it in Rhythmbox. Can anyone help :)?

Please note:
- "automatically save changes" is not checked in the session tab
- Rhythmbox also isn't in the Current Session tab when I shut down

As I can't attach to support requests (only bugs, it seems) I'll copy and paste it in:

So this mentions rhythmbox. What does this mean and why isn't that information in prefs > session?

Thanks for your help Dennis :).

Apart from rb you have a default session. If you remove
~/.gnome2/session it will be recreated the next time you login and you
no longer have this issue. I am still investigating how this happens (it
happened to me once too) and will file a bug when I pinpointed it.

Thanks, deleted :).

If you could let me know (subscribe me?) about the bug when you isolate it, I would be keen to know more about the cause.

Thanks :). By the way, Dennis, you were right that, as phrased, the problem belonged in a support request and not a bug :).
