Asked by Redneck

I have an acer. With an Athlon(TM) Dual Core Processor 4050e 2.1 Ghz
Also the system type is a 32 bit.

Will this work with the latest version of Ubuntu? If anyone can help it would be great. Also I am running window Vista will i be able to switch between the two until the rest of my family gets used to the new system?

Ya it will work & you will be able to switch b/w the OS when you want bcoz while installing ubuntu a boot loader by the name grub will be installed which allows you to choose b/w 2 or more operating system at the start up.

Good Luck!!

Yup, 32bit desktop Edition Ubuntu is the best (maybe i'm a little biased but 64bit didn't seem anything like as good on the old 8.10 version;) )

The best way to install Ubuntu is

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootFromCD

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WindowsDualBoot

It makes a much more robust, stronger and yet more flexible system than trying to install it on top of Windows.
Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
