"not working" in which sense?
Not doing anything, or leading to the wrong web page or ... ?

I get a flash like the browser is trying to open a new window, but then nothing!

I am on Protonmail, not GMail

You are able to get to https://launchpad.net/ correct?
My version of Firefox 94.0.2 not a snap package.
Will not open the link you posted either.
Browser opens this page:
Wrong Link
You have clicked on an invalid link.
@Manfred Hampl is correct.

If you can open the Launchpad page, your browser is functioning correctly.

I do not think that this is a problem in the web browser that you use.

A web search shows several messages that some internet providers block access to that domain,
e.g. https://blocklist-tools.developerdan.com/entries/search?q=trk.klclick.com

Have you tried other web browsers, and do the links work there?

I did not say that all email links do not work!
Only those that start with http://trk.klclick.com/ls/click? specifically.

1. "I did not say that all email links do not work!"
Please change the wording of your question that this is clearly visible. E.g. "Certain links not working ..."

2. Did you read my comment #5?
The link that I gave shows that some malware filters block links to that specific domain.

3. Repeating my question from comment #5:
Have you tried other web browsers, and do the links work there?

I was replying the the other persons comment, not yours Manfred.

I said these type of links are not working, and gave an example of the beginning of the link type?

I am going to try something different on my laptop (openSUSE Tumbleweeds) to see if there is any other result.

I have also asked ProtonMail if it is something to do with their service, but I have not heard back from them yet.

From ProtonMail, (I have to say good questions, and no when I copied and pasted the link into the browser address bar it still did not work, which is what lead me to raise the bug report in the first place).

Hello,

Thank you for contacting our customer support.

Can you please provide us with more information regarding the issue you are experiencing?

Does the issue appear with all links that you receive or only with this type of links?

Can you please forward the message to another non-ProtonMail address that you own just to check if the link can be accessed?

If you copy and paste the link in your browser, does the website load?

If you are using our mobile application, can you try to open the link on it?

Would it be possible to provide us with a screenshot of the error message that is displayed?
https://protonmail.com/support/knowledge-base/screenshot-reporting-bugs/

Could you tell us if you are using any extensions with your browser? If you are, could you disable them temporarily to see if that would help?

Could you please clear cache and cookies from your browser, just to see if that would help you resolve your issue?
https://protonmail.com/support/knowledge-base/how-to-clean-cache-and-cookies/

Could please try to log in to your ProtonMail account using Incognito mode on your browser just to test if the issue will remain?
https://protonmail.com/support/knowledge-base/how-to-access-protonmail-in-private-incognito-mode/

Would you consider trying with a different browser, just to see if you will experience the same issue?
https://protonmail.com/support/knowledge-base/recommended-browsers/

Would you mind trying the old ProtonMail web app to see if you will encounter the same issue?

Looking forward to your response.

Kind regards,

In my opinion the mail system has nothing to do with the issue.

My understanding is the following:

Some enterprises use the service of klklick when sending out their newsletters to allow tracking of the number of clicks on the links that they send out.
Some internet providers block the klklick domain, because some (probably very few) of the links that have been sent out that way were objectionable, see e.g. https://blocklist-tools.developerdan.com/entries/search?q=trk.klclick.com for some blacklists that categorize that domain as dangerous.

I see the following open questions:
Which internet-provider do you use (not the e-mail provider)? Do they block dubious domains?
Are you using some access filter in Firefox that may block that domain?

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Paul Reddy for more information if necessary.
