Occasionally laptop not waking up after sleep (Keyboard and display don't work, but fans start spinning)

Asked by M Pigal

Occasionally after waking up from sleep I would be greeted by a black screen and an unresponsive keyboard on Ubuntu 21.10. Keyboard doesn't work (Caps lock light not responsive), and the built-in or external display (Over HDMI) doesn't work. The only way to shut it down was to do a hard reset. I'm thinking that this could've been attributed to something related to AMD graphics drivers, but I'm not very sure.
