My Thunderbird Mail contextual menu will not close.

More details, please, at least the Ubuntu release that you are running.

What output do you receive for the following commands (to be execute in a terminal window):

uname -a
lsb_release -crid
apt-cache policy thunderbird

Version 21.10

These results when no error:
