Dual boot Ubuntu windows 10

Asked by meriem ben miled

I’m trying to install ubuntu 18.04 dual boot with windows 10 on my Dell precision 3560. I could follow all the steps for dual installation, but when I restart it to finish the ubuntu installation, when I pick ubuntu as operating system, it shows a black screen with some errors.

I changed the SATA from RAID to AHCI , reset my PC and tried to re-install ubuntu but it keeps giving me the same issue.

Dell precision 3560 is certified ubuntu.

"it shows a black screen with some errors."

It would be very helpful to see the text of these error messages.

If you are wanting to dual boot with Windows I suggest you resize the NTFS partition within Windows. This will make free space for Ubuntu.

Why are you using 18.04? Why not the latest LTS which is 20.04?

As stated by Manfred, simply saying "some errors" doesn't tell us anything. Imagine this post on a Windows forum (Which I'm guessing you arecomfortable with)

"Hi I'm using Microsoft Word and getting some errors, can you please help"

Doesn't tell you much at all does it, now read your original question......
