how to stop calendar alerts

Asked by Shiny

i added my gmail to my ubuntu (in the accounts section) and it started doing notifications for every gym session of a gym I used 6 years ago.

This calendar long ago removed from google account. I can't find it in the google calendar app anymore, but I also can't get it to stop popping up alerts on my laptop every time a session starts.

i've removed the google account. I've purged every package with "evolution" in the name. Still the alerts arrive every 30 minutes. It'll popup and steal focus when I'm working, on a call, or halfway through typing something to triumphantly announce there's a "HOT PUMP YOGA" starting now at a gym across town.

this has been happening for 6 months now.

where the heck do these alerts come from? how to make them stop?

worked it out.

I fixed it by:

1) add my google account back to ubuntu
2) re-install evolution
3) start evolution, and in the calendars section right click the account and "refresh list of account calendars"

then I could uninstall evolution again.

I spoke too soon.

The alerts for the long-ago deleted calendar are still happening.

Open the Activities overview and start typing Settings.
Click on Settings.
Click on Notifications in the sidebar to open the panel.
Click the Clear List button to empty the list of notifications.

Thanks for the instructions on how to clear the list of current notifications.

This doesn't help stop me from getting new notifications from a calendar I deleted 6 years ago.
