RTL88x2BU driver missing from repository

My WIFI antenna is based on RTL88x2BU driver that can be found here: https://github.com/RinCat/RTL88x2BU-Linux-Driver. I have been using it with Ubuntu 20.10, 21.04 and 21.10 and always worked fine. The only issue I am having with it is that every time there is a kernel update from repositories I have to recompile and reinstall it. Is there any reason why this driver it is not in the Ubuntu repositories? Or there is already something compatible for RTL88x2BU that I am not aware of? Thanks

It's possibly added later. You can make a dkms for it so that the new module is built when a kernel update happens. Alternatively, if the kernel you have is running your hardware OK then apt pin the kernel and it won't update.
