Lost ubuntu virtual machine in oracle virtual box

once ubuntu VM wouldn't start (hangs with black screen fore several minutes) i restarted hos machine (PC windows 10)
After restarting Virtual Box was empty, I lost my several years work.
Is the way to recover it? I believe all needed files didn't evapoated.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!
