File selection jump in large folder

Asked by Chris.

Hello,

I have noticed an odd/unwanted behavior in Dolphin, when I select a file in a very populated folder.

When I select a file in File, and if that file is in a rather populated folder, the File application will suddenly scroll up or down, preventing me from double clicking on that file, since it shifts place. It seems like this behavior happens after scrolling up or down.

I've attemted to record an example to better illustrate the purpose.

Can anyone let me know what is the best way to solve this problem (including submitting a bug report to Canonical if it is one...) Any help is appreciated.

Thank you for your help.
Chris.

-- Correction : Application isn't Dolphin, but the default file browser for Ubuntu, Nautilus.
I forgot to mention that I'm running Ubuntu 20.04.03, and running Files 3.36.3-stable.

Problem solved --
I stumbled accross this post https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2416274
Which led me to dig into dconf. I unticked "use-experimental-views" and that solved the problem.
I hope it'll help others.
