Shrinking a DVD

I would like to know if there's an application out there that I can use to shrink a dvd and then write it to a dvd disc in .avi format?

I know about DVD Shrink and it works fine in Wine, but the problem is that it is an iso and as soon as I try and convert it it goes to full disc.

Hi,

If you are using KDE, you can try out K9copy. It is available in Jaunty repesitory.
