usb sound card no streaming sound (youtube, spotify, etc)

Asked by ornella vanon

Hi. I've got a desktop (motherboard ASRock FM2A68M-DG3+ processor AMD Kaveri A-10 7860K 64 bits). One of the stereo channels of the on-board card crashed and stop sounding. I finally get an external sound card from a friend (don't know the brand ¿could it be envy 24?) and recovered the stereo sound to hear previous stored media. The problem is that I've got no streaming sound (nothing at all). Youtube, Spotify, and whatever on line is completely mute. I'd like to recover that streaming sound. My operating system is Ubuntu 20.04. I know I've got no good skills as a computer user, to assimilate complex explanations, but need some helping advise. English is not my language, but I know is easier to found a solution in english because of the number of users. Thanks to whoever and sorry for my grammar mistakes.
