Proxy server - What do I need to do?

Asked by Rich.b

Using Ubuntu 20.04.LTS and Firefox Ver. 91 Linux.

I am looking to improve Security on the internet and think of using the Proxy Server settings in Firefox.

What do I need to do or get?

Thanks for any advice.

Do you want to manage it yourself or use one out on the internet?

Thank you Andrew for your help,

What move information would I need if I did it myself?
What is the option for both ways of managing this?

What's the difference?

And how do I go about setting this up? What do I need to get and from where?

You can setup a box in your home that you can connect all your systems through and manage content from there. There are web based proxys you can use (for money).

Squid is an excellent proxy and can control / log all traffic going through it. Squid is in the default repos.
