can ubuntu 18.04 or 20.04 be installed on a non-SATA (M2PCLE NVME GEN 4x4 CLASS 40 2280 Solid State Drive-2T) SSD internal HD along side Windows 10

want to upgrade from a 512 non-SATA SSD internal HD to a 2TB one, by cloning the Windows to the 2TB drive and then installing 18.04 or 20.4 beside it on the same drive
does unbuntu install on these new non-SATA drives?

If it is seen in the BIOS then Ubuntu will see it. Yes Ubuntu can install on non SATA drives. It can even be installed to USB stick from another USB stick. The physical media is irrelevant
