HPLIP installation error

I am using Ub 9.04 and have HP 1020 and HP 1005P printers.
I have tried installing HPLIP 3.9.3b.run and the installation aborted with the following error message:-

error: Configure failed with error: python-devel not found

What do I do now ?

Thanks Mark

I have uninstalled all the HPLIP programs using Synaptic and thereafter re-installed the the HPLIP drivers using Synaptic and now the printer is working.
