Display distorted at start

Asked by Alain Bastien

Hi,

At startup my display is distorted.. I have to
- login a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+F2)
- sudo telinit 3
-enter password
- startx

each time on a fresh start

then it's good

How to resolve that ?

P.S. Laptop HP nx9420 Ubuntu 20.04

Hi,

My Laptop date "2006" HP nx9420 64bit 3GB RAM Intel® Core™2 CPU T7400 @ 2.16GHz × 2

Ubuntu 20.10

When I kill the X11 with telinit 3 and fire up a Startx it's good.

But I need to do that after each fresh Start UP or reboot.

sudo lshw -C display yeilds
