Unable to locate and remove the application

Asked by Jeeva

There is an application name " WifiTransfer by Notable group" that was installed automatically without any permission. When I try to remove it, in the terminal it says "Unable to locate package WifiTransfer" but it is available in applications in the setting menu but there is no option to uninstall, also it is not available in Ubuntu Software>installed.

There is no information about this software on google. Please Help me to remove this application.

A web search shows a browser extension for google with such name
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/wifitransfer-instant-wire/ebmnhcblgohjilfjffdkfikgpakhgajc?hl=en

Are you running the chromium browser?
Do you see it when opening chrome://extensions/ on your browser?

How do you know that the application is installed in Ubuntu, if it is not shown in Ubuntu-software?

Is there any output shown for the command

dpkg -l | grep -i wifi
dpkg -l | grep -i notable

Hi Thanks for the help, these commands do nothing.

I have attached the screenshots of the application.

I have not installed the application, I don't know to uninstall that.

Hi, The issue was solved. Actually, the application was installed by the chrome web store and so that appeared in the applications list in the ubuntu menu. After I removed it from webstore, the icon disappeared in the ubuntu applications menu.

Thanks for the help:)
