maas upgrade process from 18.04/2.5.2 to latest release

Asked by Geoffrey Goldman

Hi, I've inherited a maas environment that is currently running Ubuntu 18.04 and MaaS 2.5.2 - and I have a request to upgrade to the latest LTS OS and latest MaaS release. I definitely need assistance with the upgrade process.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Geoff Goldman

General instructions how to upgrade an Ubuntu server can be found here:
https://ubuntu.com/server/docs/upgrade-introduction

I assume that during this upgrade also the maas software will be upgraded, which in this case means replacing the *.deb version by a snap package (probably 2.9.*)

My suggestion is doing a trial run on a test system first.

Snapshots will help (I'm assuming VMs here) or clone the server and upgrade that and test. If it's OK then switch the upgraded one for the current server

Can you help with this problem?
