Freezing of applications etc

Hello i am running Ubuntu 20.04 LTS some of my app like steam ,google chrome browser are just frozen and unresponsive , i'm not able to restart from GUI have to do a hard reset at the power button can anyone help ....?

Hello I did a sudo memtester 1024 5 and every thing is checked ok.

Loop 1/5:

  Compare OR : ok
  Compare AND : ok
  Sequential Increment: ok
  Solid Bits : ok
  Block Sequential : ok
  Checkerboard : ok
  Bit Spread : ok
  Bit Flip : ok
  Walking Ones : ok
  Walking Zeroes : ok
  8-bit Writes : ok
  16-bit Writes : ok

This was done five times

Are you using the latest BIOS?

i checked on the asrock site for my motherboard i cant updat the bios because im using bristol ridge cpu
