Machine not appearing in paid subscription

Asked by Nikos Lagios

Hello everyone. After a fresh installation of 20.04 on my laptop, I ran the command "sudo ua attach ..." to attach it to my newly paid subscription. My system was properly attached as it is shown in both "Software and Updates" and after running the command "sudo ua status". On the website " https://ubuntu.com/advantage", my system is not visible in the tab "Machines". Moreover, the tab "Where", further down seems to be inactive.

Is your Canonical Livepatch Service working ? [Updates without a restart]

Hello, Bernard. Thank you for your interest. My Livepatch service seems
to work since I haven't encountered any error messages yet. I didn't
understand your remark about the ESM subscription - I thought that ESM
has to do with the 16.04 edition (I have been using 20.04). I keep it
enabled for no reason. Should I disable it? I am attaching a screenshot
to give you an idea about the missing information. Thanks again for your
help.

The 16.04 us sill good with a ESM subscription until April 2024.

I am not understanding what tabs in Ubuntu Advantage you are referring to.
I do not have a ESM account to look. Could you clarify.
Did you install all of the regular updates [ terminal: apt-get update ] before you tried to attach your 20.04.
Did you install the new token to 20.04 Then attach it to the ESM subscription was what I was talking about.
Otherwise you will have to Sign in to edit your existing subscription for ESM.
