NVMe is no longer recognised after install 2104 on other drive

Asked by Paul Ubuntu

After stupidly installing 2104 on a separate drive and partition my main drive, M.2 NVMe, lost the ability to boot. And grub stop seeing when rebuilding grub.

After delete the 2104 and EFI partitions I still can't get the M.2 drive to boot even after restoring that drive. I've tried boot restore with no success.

I created and restore the image with Disks(udisks I think). Gparted couldn't change the flag to bootable.

Should a disk image with gnome-disk-utility not be used when restoring on a M.2 PCIE3/NVME device?

I think I know why this all went wrong. Efi and update the BIOS/UEFI. My original install had no problems without efi being involved. When installing 2104 it complained about /boot/efi but I continued anyways not under standing that it wasn't just a hiccup in installation.
