I have SATA hard disk, not able to install Linux

I have SATA hard disk, I was not able to install Linux in my system. will there be any such problem, when I am installing ubuntu?

I have a Ubuntu 7.04 box at work with a 160GB SATA Drive, I installed with no problem. You should be fine.

At what point do the Raid drivers get installed during the OS installation? Is it like Windows. Will it prompt for them?
