Asked by Lars Martin Hambro on 2021-04-08

Did someone know if this laptop should support 21.04 or its to old because i know both fedora\ubuntu have issue with boot this laptop so i not sure if GPU or kernel have to less support or diskspace issue?

What did you think because its faster than windows 10 in usage, but i get _ blinking dot in boot so not sure if its out of lifetime same with chromebooks did not have long lifetime.

How much RAM does it have?

Due to the fact that Ubuntu 21.04 is not ready yet, the minimum requirements for that operating system have not yet been published.

My suggestion for older devices with lower specifications is Lubuntu 20.04 LTS.

I have 8 GB but know its support 16 GB but its get to high cpu usage with it.

i did not care about system requments i know its will support 1650 MHz speed up to 2 cores.

But HD6320 or simular is maybe to poor with gnome 40 i know that fedora 34 beta have less hardware support with mellonox connectX and AMD HD card because hardware be to old to give support on it.

So its may be issue on ubuntu soon or kubuntu but its may be with 21.10 or later. I did not know other that i know is some issue with Kubuntu 20.10 when i use this computer and before its have be issue i think its grapic card or kernel that give issue?

It runs an AMD E-350 which is 64bit and 8Gb RAM will be fine. The 320Gb HDD is enough but at 5400rpm it's a bit slow. If you can get an SSD in there it'll really help. Otherwise it's a pretty standard laptop. You can always run the Ubuntu installer from USB as a live test without changing the internal drive but I'd recommend getting the spinny drive out of the system as it's a real bottleneck (if you haven't already replaced it)

Any OS can be faster or slower than any other. It's all about configuration. Ubuntu isn't outright "faster" than Windows. It's nonsense

but why did bootloader failed to install? its did not look easy to fix refind boot manager did not works?

Can you help with this problem?
