How to fix kubuntu desktop kubuntu 21.04?

Asked by Lars Martin Hambro

Hi i use Asus X370 pro its works better with gnome on 21.04 than kubuntu desktop.

I tryed to uninstall it and install:
sudo apt install kde-full

But did not know difference with:
sudo apt install kde-standard
Sudo apt install kde-plasma-desktop

So if that still failed, slow performance and start key or other thing other than crlt + alt + del did not works good so its someone way to fix it? may it be setting from upgrade or what can be wrong?

sudo apt install ubuntu-desktop

Will give you the Ubuntu desktop as if you'd installed it. What you are doing will take a lot of space and also requires you to upgrade two full desktop environments during updating which will make it take longer. If Gnome runs better then I suggest you wipe the install off and do a clean install of Ubuntu with only the Gnome desktop.

The packages you named in your post are metapackages and simply make installing lots of things easier. Like a group. Uninstalling metapackages doesn't remove the packages they pull in.
