graphic troubleshooting...

Asked by Hai Lee

Hello Ubuntu community, I've just got this issue in Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS.

1. I installed Firefox from Snapscraft, and when I opened Firefox, the screen became blinking, and I can not use Firefox anymore (reinstall, try run safe-mode), but the Firefox from apt-get repository worked fine.

2. The issue continue with Kdenlive from snapcraft too. When I opened Kdenlive, the error message appeared:
Could not create the video preview window.
There is something wrong with your Kdenlive install or your driver settings, please fix it.

And may be there are many packets have the same problems.
So, I think that the problem here may relevant to the graphic driver or something similar.

I try troubleshooting the issue follow the link: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/GraphicsTroubleshootingProcedure

And this is the output, again, thank your concern.

So you are running Wayland? Have you verified the same problems occur in a regular Xorg session?

Graphics: Device-1: Intel 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics driver: i915 v: kernel
           Display: wayland server: X.Org 1.20.9 driver: i915 resolution: 1366x768~60Hz
OpenGL: renderer: Mesa DRI Intel HD Graphics 4000 (IVB GT2) v: 4.2 Mesa 20.2.6

^^ Well, the correct driver is installed/loaded. That doesn't mean it's free of bugs though.

Hi Daniel Letzeisen, I'm very thank you for your response.

I'm using Wayland, and I can sure that the issue has only appeared in SnaftCraft repository.
I tried install Kdenlive, Firefox in apt-get repository, and they worked well.

I'm using another Kubuntu computer and I have no problem with SnapCraft.

With this Ubuntu computer, I tried to reinstall Ubuntu (20.04.2 LTS) many times, but the issue has still remained.

So, I hope the next upgrade, the issue may be solved.

And the last, I really appreciate your response. Thank you.
