In Ubuntu 20.04 Printer prints single side only-Why?

Asked by Navin Talati

Sir,

My OS is Ubuntu 20.04. The printer is HP LaserJet M-1005 MFP. When I print any pdf file and adjust the printing properties to print the content on both the sides with long edge (std) etc. But when printing, it continuously prints all the pages one-by-one. The order of printed pages remains as normal – i.e 1, 3, 5 ,.... and then 2, 4, 6, .... but the side of later pages ( say..2, 4, 6, .... etc) remains inverted as if it is printed on reverse side of the pre-printed pages 1, 3, 5 ,....etc. Also some times it skips page to print but the paper roll out as ususal but blank!.

I feel that there is something missing like some packages required to be installed, which are not downloaded. Or may be something. I have also veriefied the settings of printer multiple times. The issue pertains with the OS as the printer gives normal results with Windows OS.

Please guide me: How to resolve this issue?
