Is tpm enabled in the BIOS?

Seems to be related to secure boot. If Ubuntu will be the only OS on the system then simply disable it as well as UEFI and you'll have an easier installation.

TPM is enabled in the BIOS.

Secure boot is easy to disable.

UEFI has no obvious disable setting.

Here is what the BIOS has for UEFI:

In the General section of BIOS, there is an entry for UEFI Boot Path Security.
This is an admin password related facility.

In the Security section of BIOS, there is an entry for UEFI Capsule Firmware Updates.
Disabling this option will block BIOS updates from Windows Update and Linux Vendor Firmware Service (LVFS).

There are no other explicit mentions of UEFI in the entire BIOS.

So how do you disable UEFI?

Dell tech support claim that the BIOS of this machine does not have legacy settings.
