display brightness goes low when connecting or removing power supply

Hi all,
since an update a few weeks ago (i don't remember exactly when), the display brightness on my Lenovo IdeaPad C340 goes to the lowest level when i connect or disconnect the power supply. After readjusting the brightness manually, further connect and disconnect events do not have any effect, i.e. the brightness stays constant on the desired level. Can you repair this?

Do you have the latest BIOS? This may help

No, my BIOS is 1.08, current is 1.10. Unfortunately, Lenovo only offers a Windows executable to update the BIOS, so i can't update it.
