Asked by gyanendra singh

Hi. We have purchased 9 Commercial Licenses for Ubuntu Canonical Subscription and we have configured Ubuntu 18.0 on 9 Servers. On a daily basis aprrox 500 GB of error logs are getting generated. When we try to delete error logs on 'var/logs/cups' folder we are unable to delete the same. Due to this issue, we are unable to start/execute our applications on a daily basis. Kindly assist us further to resolve this issue ?

In my opinion your problem is not "how to delete the log", but your problem is "why are there 500 GB of log being written every day"! This is not normal behavior.

I suggest that you check the contents of the log files to correct the error (or whatever it is) that causes so many messages to be written.

It should be possible to delete the files with commands like
sudo rm /var/log/cups/filename_of_a_file
If that does not work, then please tell us the error message that you receive for this command.

If you have commercial licenses, why don't you call support? It's part of what you have paid for

Can you help with this problem?
