Ubuntu not loaded, black screen appeared with underdask line

Asked by Zlatica on 2021-02-18

Hello everyone,

can anybody help me with this issue with ubuntu 20? I have installed ubuntu 20 and windows 8 to my computer and after some time it began to crash. When I start the computer with ubuntu logo Lenovo appears twice but at the second time it is shorter time and then black screen appears with just blicking under dash ("_") in the left up corner. That is everything what happens and then I have to just push the starting button to completely restart it from the start. Windows is working normally, but ubuntu can't load. Sometimes this appeared instead of the under dash: "9,067573..snd_hda_intel 0000:00:1f.3: No response from codec, resetting bus: last cmd0x01335150".

Can somebody help? I tried something but it is not working.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
ZK

"Ubuntu 20" isn't a thing. It doesn't exist. There is Ubuntu 20.04 (Codenamed Focal) and Ubuntu 20.10 (Codenamed Groovy). Which are you using please? If you are unsure then please run:

lsb_release -a

and you will be shown.

Thanks

Hello, 20.04.

Does Windows boot OK?

Support for Windows 8 ended on January 12, 2016

You may want to update to Windows 10.

Yes, as I wrote..windows is working at best.

If you chroot from a live CD / USB can you run updates OK?

What happened on the system before the issue started?

Zlatica (kaluzna) said : #7

i am not sure about the first one but nothing happened to the system before..it just happened one day and stayed till now..I was very surprised about it..

Boot to root recovery console or chroot from live CD / USB (root recovery mode is easier) then run updates. It may help.

Can you help with this problem?
