Ubuntu does not fit screen

Asked by Laura Kanesy

Hello. I just installed Ubuntu 20.04 on my laptop through Virtual box and I can't find the correct resolution. Ubuntu won't fit my screen and I'm not sure how to fix it. I tried experimenting on all of the resolusions ubuntu offers and it won't fit. Thank you.

Power off the OS in virtual box. For the Ubuntu - Open settings in virtual box.
Click on Display under the screen tab - Adjust the Scale Factor slider bar.
Restart the Ubuntu in virtual box. May have to adjust a couple of times.

Hello. Thank you for your response. The screen still does not fit after using the scale factor. Is there another way to fix this please?

Please provide diagnostic information:

Which operating system is your "host"?
What are the screen settings for the host operating system?
You try running Ubuntu 20.04 as guest in Virtualbox, is this correct?
Is Ubuntu 20.04 the only guest system that you have tried so far?
In which sense does Ubuntu "not fit screen"?
Which "view" settings have you selected for the Ubuntu system in virtualbox (Full-screen, seamless, scaled, ...)?
etc.

Can you help with this problem?
